Towbook Element: Google Plus Codes

Towbook Element: Google Plus Codes

Navigate to interstate locations using Google Plus Codes!

Towbook utilizes Google Maps for everything mapping related, and it can be difficult to route to specific mile markers and interstate locations in general.

The good news is that Towbook was built to read Google Plus Codes!

Plus Codes are like street addresses for people or places that don’t have one.

Instead of addresses with street names and numbers, Plus Codes are based on latitude and longitude and displayed as numbers and letters.

Retrieving a Google Plus Code and routing via Towbook is easy:

  • Open your ‘Google Maps' app (or if on a PC, go to maps.google.com).
  • Find the location you’d like to route to.
  • Long press on the location (on mobile) or double-click on the location if using the web.
  • Google will drop a pin and produce your Google Plus Code.
  • Copy and paste the code into the Towbook web or mobile app.

NOTE: Google Plus Codes are open source, and we look forward to adding this feature for you in the future!
