Towbook Element: Invoice Formats

Introducing Invoice Formats!

We've introduced some automated invoice formats to help tailor your receipts according to the account type or reason on the call.

Recovery Invoice Format

The recovery invoice format is triggered when the reason code assigned to a call includes the word 'Recovery' (i.e. Recovery, Accident Recovery, Water Recovery, etc.).

When a vehicle is impounded, recovery charges will now have their own labeled section. The addresses and reason section at the top of the invoice also no longer reference the word 'Tow'.

NOTE: For 'Recovery' charges to show on the invoice, the service item category must be set to "Recovery" under 'Settings' → 'Services & Pricing' → Clicking on a service item.

Transport Invoice Format

The transport invoice format is triggered by calls assigned to an account, where the account type is set as 'Transport'.

All references to towing will be removed from transport invoices, including the address labels and reason.

If a call assigned to a transport account is put into storage, references to the word 'Impound' are replaced on the invoice with the word 'Storage'.

Other Services Format

The other services format is triggered when no vehicle information is listed in the call.

This format is particularly useful if your business model includes doing jobs for residences or businesses, such as locksmith services.

It hides the vehicle information fields from the invoice, so there are no blank fields for year, make, model, etc.

It also changes the 'Pickup' and 'Destination' address labels on the invoice so they display as 'Origin' and 'Destination'.

NOTE: This formatting will not apply to any calls with the destination set to an impound lot.


We hope you like these new automations! There is nothing to activate on your end, these formats will automatically apply to invoices containing the parameters mentioned above.
