Towbook Element: Request Location

Ping customers for their exact location!

Our "Request Customer Location" feature allows customers to update their location via text, which automatically populates into the call.

Setup for Request Customer Location

Request your customer's location by using the following steps:

  • Go to "Dispatching".
  • Select the desired call and click on "Modify".
  • Click on the "bullseye" icon to the right of the "Pickup" address.
  • A box will appear indicating the phone number you'll be sending the request to; if it's incorrect, you can change this now and select the "Send" button when you're ready.
  • Once the request is sent, you will get a confirmation pop-up that states you requested their location.
  • The customer will receive a text message to share their location with your company.
  • They will click on the link in the message and follow the steps to share their location. Once completed, they will get confirmation that it was shared successfully.
  • Once the location is shared, the address on the call will be updated automatically.

IMPORTANT: Your customer must allow sharing their location, or you will not receive a location response from their cell phone.
